places to live.
Located 20 miles from Washington, D.C., Loudoun and Fairfax are fast becoming
a major employment center as well as a blossoming "bedroom" communities for the
nation's Capital. On the other hand, efforts toward controlling this growth by the local
government are preserving the rural nature and beauty of the nearby countryside. What joy

TESTING FOR RADON
Radon gas is a colorless, odorless decay product of uranium that occurs naturally in rock and soil throughout the country. While it isn't an issue outdoors, it can cause serious health problems whenever it collects inside a home or office building. If radon is found in your home, it can usually be removed at a relatively low cost with simple ventilation systems.
If you are buying a home, you might consider including a radon test as part of a contingency clause. If you are selling your home, test it for radon before placing it on the market to put your own fears to rest, and to avoid it becoming an issue with your buyer during the sale.
If you are concerned about radon gas in your home, check out the Environmental Protection Agency's website at www.epa.gov and download their "Citizen's Guide to Radon". It will give you all the information you need to know on how to test for radon and safely remove it.
